I have a Ford Focus 2010 TDCI 1.6. When driving the engine stops without warning signs and "engine malfunction" is displayed. After wating a while the engine malfunction message is gone and the car can be started again and runs fine. Happens after ~15 minutes driving and can be during idling or driving at constant speed. apparently a loose battery cover can knock a sensor somehow. There is an issue with the Mk2 where the lead free solder joints on the clocks go iffy and cause the engine malfunction light to come on plus a bunch of other issues. It's a known and common fault. Possible causes : An electrical fault in the Turbocharger control circuit. MAP sensor electrical failure. Inspect connectors for signs of damage, water ingress, corrosion, etc. If the code is set at idle renew the turbocharger. Other people have had glow plug problems with this DV6 engine that did that. The problem is, even from new, the DV6TED4 engine had a inherent design fault which caused premature turbo failure & worse, so if you're really fortunate the previous owner ''fixed'' the issue with various mods & was OCD with servicing - or you're taking a huge & potentially expensive risk with this engine. 1. The injector issues aren't inherent to the engine and are usually confined to 2009 batch that affected all Ford models that used the Lynx engine. Regarding Terraclean my engine was well coked up, lumpy at idle, didn't like coasting anymore in 1st/2nd (in traffic) and used to leave lots of soot behind when booted. QKbzEy.
