There is always at least one guy who calls my 2016 Africa Twin DCT a "scooter". I love my 998cc scooter with auto tranny Let those 'have-nots' call it whatever, that makes them less jealous, LOL PS make sure you are familiar with the normal clunking noise to differentiate with other noises coming from or near the gearbox.

BUT. I feel sometimes like the front end is bouncing/vibrating too much. This is especially apparent between around 25-45mph. Below or above this, it seems to disappear. If I take my hands off the bars between 25-45, the bars shake and wiggle quite a bit. Feels like going over a very consistently rough road.

Honda has issued a recall on model-year 2020 and 2021 Africa Twin motorcycles. The recall states that a problem with the engine control unit and dual-clutch transmission affects close to 1,600 bikes.

The procedure above is not the correct one to clear 6-1 & 6-2 (ABS related) You need to follow pg 20-7. How to erase the DTC without MCS. 1. Connect the SCS connector to the DLC (page 4-6). 2. Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop switch " " while squeezing either brake lever. The ABS indicator should come on. Bought ’17 Africa Twin DCT, but it has a dct problem ☹. The dct hesitates to change the gears – in D mode it changes from 1st to 2 gear when the rpm reaches about 3,5-4k rpm. The same fro 2st to 3st gear. Other gears are better, but changing is not smooth – not like clunking noise, bet gears are changing slow, like clutch is slipping a

The Africa Twin DCT, Goldwing DCT, and Rebel 1100 DCT are outselling their manual counterparts. Won’t be surprised if Honda’s next model is rebel 300/500 DCT. I tried the 1100 and had a few complaints as far as it being in a stupid high gear going 20-30mph and the shifting mid turn from a stop, but that’s the beauty of the paddle shifters 2) Sat on bike with side stand up. 3) Shut bike off with the key. 4) While holding down the D button, turn the bike on with key, as soon as the engine light went out (on the LCD, not waiting for the TFT to load), pushed DDNDN. 5) waiting about 3-5 seconds and started the engine. 6) Turned the engine off with the key. No one I have read about had problems with Honda's dct stuff worth mentioning.. So now worries there.. Ps. Unfortunately I have only ridden the 2017 DCT for a short while on marble like gravel & did find that it is a lot easier without needing to worry about which gear you are in.. Mostly rode it in sport mode with gravel mode engaged. gWpg.
