Sweet, sticky Turkish delight is on offer in every colour of the rainbow while salty sour olives range from deep black-purple to bright green. A visit to Kemaraltı Market is definitely one of the tastiest things to do in Izmir. Address: Konak, Anafartalar Cd. Opening hours: every day from 8 AM – 8 PM.
Never been to Izmir but the Antalya province has got everything. Antalya a big working city with great old town, Kas and Kalkan small fishing villages, Belek Europes golf mekka and Side an old historic town with lots of ruins, amfiteatre, apollos temple and Turkeys second longest beach.. 2.

Several intercity bus companies run direct bus services from both Istanbul's main bus station, Esenler Otogar, and Alibeyköy Otogar to Antalya. The journey takes between 11 and 13 hours (depending on how many stops the service makes), so the vast majority of
1. Istanbul/Izmir. There is nothing you cannot find in Istanbul – in fact. Taksim is the ideal spot for high-street stores, but there are also huge malls across the city, such as Cevahir, Mall of Istanbul, etc. Izmir is also a great shopping spot, with several other malls and plenty of

IST is located on the European side of Istanbul and closer to the major sites. SAW is on the Asian side of the city and further away. If this is your first visit, I suggest you fly in to and out of IST to save time and money if your hotel is located on the European side. Hotels usually offer a one-way free airport transfer if you book more than
Istanbul and Izmir are two of Turkey's biggest cities, so there are lots of transport options between the two. Izmir is often a second stop on Turkey travel itineraries, after Istanbul, as it is the gateway city to the Roman ruins of Ephesus (73 kilometers south), as well as being within day-tripping distance of Pamukkale (216 kilometers southeast) and Pergamum (113 kilometers north), two of

Istanbul or Antalya for Families. Both Istanbul and Antalya are excellent destinations in Turkey for a family, but personally, Antalya is marginally better than Istanbul for a family just because it’s less hectic and busy, making it feel safer and less chaotic. Antalya is one of the most popular family-oriented destinations in Europe, thanks
Both Ankara and Izmir are modern cities, but their roots predate, say, Istanbul and Ankara is easily the older of the two, and so are the archaeological sites around Ankara. Ankara also has the better museums. That being said, Izmir is prettier and closer to the relatively modern ruins of Pergamum or Ephesus, etc. Report inappropriate content.
Izmir, Turkey is better than Istanbul. I just came back from a solo trip to turkey. I spent 5 days in istanbul and 3 days in izmir and a day trip to ephesus. I didn't like istanbul very much. The entire time I was there, I felt like everyone was trying to scam me. The 3 times I took a taxi, they almost never ran the meter.
friendliest people ever. Turkish people are generally very friendly and I always got that welcoming/friendship feeling everywhere but I can say that in Izmir thats more unique and special. winters not as cold as balkans (but summers are hell ofc) its more modern and people are way more open minded.
