Using the level 80 boost gives you a set of exotic gear, yes, but it will be bound to the character you used the boost on. On the other hand, you can use it on a character that has already reached max level, like your thief. If you don't want to use the boost as a way to bypass levelling another character, this might be the easiest way for you

1 Posted November 28, 2020 Hey guys, I'm new in GW2. And I used the boost item to get lvl 80, soo I tried to start the Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire journey, but I'm dying to much and having a low dps. Is there anything I should do before start quest's? Regards =) Linken.6345 Members 13.9k Posted November 28, 2020

If you find exploration boring or something, buy an xpac, use one lvl 80 boost on an alt account, play the first half of the story step of PoF, get your mount, go back to your lvl 40 character, and explore the world with it :D
Or should I use the boost so I have level 80 gear, then what should be my immediate course of action? I will mainly be playing pvp. So if I do use 80 boost how would I essentially get better gear for it easily? The only expo I have is PoF as well. I plan on getting HoT soon. I'm really torn on what to do and how to proceed if I do use level 80
You can use it as a infinite trial on infinite characters before you actually consume it permanently and boost your character to lvl 80. Meaning you are free to make a new lvl 1 character, double click the booster, temporary boost the character to lvl 80 with all skills and traits unlocked and play whatever and however you wish in a lvl 80 zone

As someone said previously, you might get overwhelmed with the amount of skills, and builds. Take your time and develop your own playstyle. You can always start a new character and use the insta level 80 on it. One thing you can do is create characters and use the L80 Boost to try them out in The Silverwastes.

Is there any other reason that we shouldn't create a new character and use the Level 80 boost prior to the release of EoD? I'm not asking for specific spoilers, just if we should hold off using it or if it's ok to go ahead an create the new character. I really like narrative and stories in my games, but it is taking me a long time to level my character to max. I started a month ago and am now at level 55, but I’m tempted to use the boost to speed things up. I just wanted to know if I will be able to replay personal stories or such cause I real Edelweiss.4261. Danikat.8537. Dashiva.6149. Biff.5312. Biff.5312. Enox.5870. I wouldn't say learn the class from leveling doing maps in PvE. Some classes you can but a lot of classes you aren't gong to be very efficient because completing maps in PvE is easy even if you jusr randomly press buttons. The boost is for players who know the game like the back of their hand and have more immediate goals that can't wait for a regular level up. IMO it'd be wasted on your Ele at this point. I2aphsc • 4 yr. ago. If it's you first character that your leveling up to 80 do not use that boost.

You can't do any of the expansions until you reach level 80. So, you can buy the expansions and use the free booster to boost straight to level 80 and start playing without knowing wtf you are doing, or, you can take it easy, do the f2p maps and events, learn a character class while you level up to 80. Once you are at 80, if you still like the

Elementalists are a pro player's choice. Lowest health of all classes, very unforgiving of mistakes. Until you master the class, you will die a lot. Also, one of the most complicated classes, with 20 weapon skills available at one time (5 per attunement). Try it out in Sliverwastes for a few hours minimum. (player since launch here) I would not use it on your first character; I would use it on a second or third character so you can skip redoing the leveling process; Some classes take more time to get used to than others; and yes getting to level 80 is a part of the challenge, but understanding you class is more important than getting to play HoT content as soon as possible

The grind is the worst part about MMO's, just boost it. Especially since you get the feel of your core class but once you're 80 you need to collect more masteries to level you elite spec then need to learn to play the elite spec you choose. I'd buy 80 boosters from the store 100% if they were available. 0-80 seems like a waste of time to me.
